The Academic Research Centre video archive, created in 2007, is the only systematic collection of Czech video art and video documentation. It takes in the period from the 1980s to the present day. It contents are regularly published on an online database.
It is possible to study on the premises of the archive and mediatheque by prior arrangement.
As well as using the archive’s materials in its research, teaching and curatorial activities, the Academic Research Centre organises public screenings and in 2011 created the VIDA series, which releases thematic selections on DVD. Since 2012 the centre has been releasing selected video on the Artyčok.tv internet TV station in the section Window onto the Video Archive.
The centre collaborates with mediabaze.cz, which is involved in research activities and the promotion and distribution of Czech audiovisual art.
