2005 / Another presentation of the project in the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (UK), 28. 2. – 6. 3. 2005
Federico Díaz, E-area and VVP AVU
Apart from presentation of the project Sembion 1.1.2/ Sublightecture of the binary sperm in its preparatory phase in the exhibition Algorithmic Revolution: On the History of Interactive Art in ZKM Karlsruhe, the truly interactive HCCI installation of Federic Díaz and his E-area team of fellow workers is also taking place in cooperation with VVP AVU in London’s ICA Gallery.
It takes place in a 10m x 3m space through which the visitor passes and sees a projection on a 3m x 2m glass surface bent at a 45° angle. Due to the characteristics of this glass surface, it is possible to see the projected image in space creating the effect of a hologram. At the same time, the visitor is followed by a system of sensors detecting movement, sound, colour etc., as impulses for new configurations that simultaneously alter and animate the projected 3D forms.
The installation is going to be a part of the other co-project – Sembion 1.1.2. / Karel Malich / E-area, which will be prepared by VVP AVU at Museum Kampa in autumn 2005. The main aim of which is to document, reactualise and reinterpret the work of Karel Malich, works mainly with the idea of finding new means of communication between the artist and the public, and the subsequent visualization of this process with the aid of an interactive installation. At the same time it attempts to find a new interpretation of the work Karel Malich, implemented on the basis of his own artistic and text records, which represent parallel forms of the artist’s thought processes.
