\nAn exhibition project examining significant trends in Central European art between 1949 and 1999.<\/p>\n

\"Plak\u00e1t\"<\/a>
This exhibit organised by the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna with the broad participation of international curators and art historians was a project revealing significant trends and positions of Central European art since 1949. The exhibit included Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and the countries of the former Yugoslavia with the goal to rehabilitate specific art values of so-called Central Europe, to clarify its context and open possibilities for broader representation in the history of modern art, in which this area is not only still relatively unknown, but also shifted to the periphery. The VVP AVU assisted in the exhibition and catalogue efforts by providing material from its archive, utilising research results and documentation of Czech art movements since 1939. Subsequent venues for the exhibition were the Ludwig Museum Budapest and the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona as well as Southampton.<\/p>\n
