Notebook

Notebook

The Notebook for Art, Theory and Related Zones is a peer-review periodical focusing on contemporary visual arts within a broader cultural and theoretical context. The Notebook’s aim is to cultivate Czech reflections on art by printing texts written by specialists in the area of the humanities and social sciences that thematize the current situation in art and contemporary culture in the Czech Republic and abroad. The Notebook is not in principle methodologically defined; the decisive criteria are quality, level of stimulation, and relevance for reflections upon contemporary visual art.

The magazine comes out twice a year (June and December) and features specialised studies and reviews. From 2010 to 2013 it was listed in the list of peer-reviewed non-impact periodicals published in the Czech Republic. The original articles offered to the editors for publication have since 2009 undergone regular review.

It is listed with the State Technical Library and in the records of the Ministry of Culture. Currently it is published by the AVU Research Centre as part of a research project of the Czech Ministry of Culture. Notebook is listed in ERIH Plus database since 2015.
